Outline

1. Introduction to Drama and Performance - Using elements of Therukoothu drama and understanding the history and context of theatre landscape.
2. Understanding and contextualising Drama _ using improvisation, story dramatisation and othe rtechniques through history history and landscape.
3. Putting up a play! - using all previously learned elements to put up a story.
4. Final Production - Understanding the different aspects including props, make up, sound and light. All exercises will be age appropriate.

Learning Objectives

Drama encourages imagination and creativity in children. Children learn, using improvisation, story dramatisation and other techniques. It is also helpful in developing cooperation skills, which lead to better social skills. To equip students with dramatic skills and understanding of characterisation and script. The Workshop encourages students in putting up a play. Working together in small groups and understanding different team dynamics. Being a part of a production, whether backstage or onstage, helps to foster confidence and self worth.
