Where Stories Become Stage, Screen & Heritage

Kathai Thiruvizha (The Story Festival) celebrates the power and magic of stories by nurturing confidence, creativity, and imagination among Singapore’s youth. The festival bridges traditional Tamil heritage with modern creative mediums, encouraging students to express themselves through performance, music, reels, and short films.

Creativity

Encourages original storytelling, performance ideas, and visual expression across both stage and digital platforms.

Confidence

Helps young participants develop stage presence, communication skills, and the courage to share their stories with others.

Heritage

Connects students with the Tamil language, traditions, folk arts, and community history through meaningful and engaging creative experiences.

Entries should be educational, culturally rich, and suitable for students and families.

Memorized Live Performance

Story Song and Villupaattu performances should be presented without scripts or prompt cards.

Original Digital Entries

Reels and Short Films must be original creations prepared specifically for this festival.
