About AKT Creations

Rooted in Tamil culture. Driven by joy. Dedicated to every child.

How It All Began

DSC_0818.jpg

AKT Creations was founded in 2011 by Rani Kanna and Anandha Kannan two passionate believers in the power of arts, culture, and joyful learning to transform children's lives.

The name says it all. Anandha Kalvi means joyful learning in Tamil and that has been our guiding philosophy from day one. We set out to create a space where Tamil language and traditional Indian arts were not a chore, but a celebration. Where children didn't just learn about their culture they lived it, performed it, and fell in love with it.

From a single vision shared between two founders, AKT Creations has grown into one of Singapore's most trusted Tamil arts education organisations, reaching over 200 schools and thousands of children across the island.

Anandha Kannan, our beloved co-founder, may no longer be with us  but his spirit, his joy, and his deep love for Tamil culture lives on in every class we teach, every stage we set, and every child whose eyes light up when they discover their mother tongue.

What We Believe

The story of two passionate educators who believed learning should always be joyful.

We believe that language is best learnt through joy.

Tamil is not just a subject. It is a living, breathing heritage full of stories, rhythms, colours, and emotions. When children experience Tamil through drama, dance, music, and storytelling, it stops being something they have to learn and becomes something they want to carry with them for life.

We also believe that every child belongs here especially children from English-speaking homes who may feel uncertain or disconnected from their mother tongue. AKT Creations is a safe, warm, and encouraging space where no child is made to feel behind.
