We have conducted NAC-AEP programs through school assembly shows, drama workshops, folk arts, storytelling, puppet stories, etc. cementing a strong base and liking for Tamil language and Indian traditional arts.
We have been in partnership with Tamil Language Council, Indian Heritage Centre and Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre for conducting cultural and language festivities as a commemoration to our deep-rooted heritage. Tamil language camps have been held in more than 200 primary and secondary schools so far, in addition to literature workshops, assembly performances and theatre documentaries.
Traditional art courses such as Kummi, Oyil, Karagam, Koothu, Parai, Villupaatu, Theru Koothu, Kaliyal, Oyilattam and Silambattam are conducted to promote and share the richness of Tamil culture and tradition.
Schools may use the Tote Board Arts Grant to subsidise the programme cost.
Primary and Secondary Schools, Junior Colleges, Centralised Institutes & ITE Regional Campuses may use subsidy of up to 50% of the programme cost, and for Special Education Schools may use up to 70% of the programme cost
The Tote Board Arts Grant is not applicable to pre-schools. NAC partners selected pre-school centres to receive funding to purchase Pre-School AEP.
The following programme is approved under NAC-AEP 2023-2025 until 31 December 2025.
School Programme
We aspire for children to have an enriched memory of lifetime learning through hands-on interactive activities. In these 10 years of our journey since 2011, our creative workshops, cultural camps, motion pictures and stage productions have been designed to educate and empower the young participants.
