1. No theme will be given.

  2. Stories with politics, sexual and religious elements are to be avoided.

  3. Either an adapted or original Tamil story can be presented by the participant for the first round.



  1. MAGO Title and Champion trophy will be awarded.

  2. The results of the winners will be announced and they will be awarded on the actual day.



  1. This is an Individual Category.

  2. The school may send only 1 student from primary 4 or 5 to represent the school.

  3. The registration will be on a first come first serve basis. Registration will close once it reaches maximum intake.



  1. The participants will need to present a story in Tamil within 100 seconds. Those who exceed the time limit will be penalized. Participants must tell their story without using any props or costume changes. The focus is on the participants’ rendition of the story.

  2. During the selection round, participants will have to present their prepared stories to the panel of judges. Winners will qualify for the semi-final round.

  3. In the semi-final round and in the final round, contestants will be required to create their own story and present their story in accordance to the conditions given by the organizers at the given time.

  4. Contestants need to bring their own writing materials (pen, writing pad etc).

  5. The organizers reserve the right to amend the rules and regulations of the competition without prior notice.

  6. The organizers hold the rights of the video coverage of the competition.

  7. All participants are to report to the auditorium at least 15 minutes before the MAGO Storytelling Olympiad commences.

  8. Latecomers will not be entertained.

  9. All primary school students are encouraged to be accompanied by the teacher or parent or guardian.

  10. All participants MUST be attired in their full school uniform.(neat, school badge, appropriate footwear)


The Judging Criteria are as follows:

  1. Content (Story / Characterisation/ Language/Creativity)   40%

  2. Delivery (Clarity/ Gestures)                                       30%

  3. Effectiveness (Stage Presence / Body Language)            30%

The decision of the judges will be final. No further correspondence will be entertained.


1. The organisers will not be held responsible for any loss of property or injury that might arise during the competition.

2. The Venue is not wheel chair assessable. we are sorry wheelchair bound students cannot take part in the competition.
